Can a customer record a call without the consent of the opposite party?

There is at present no such law in the country which prohibits recording of call. But it entirely depends upon the circumstance of usage, whether you’re using it for personal reasons or to blackmail, defraud, torture and to compel the other party.

The tapping or using the call recording with mala fide (bad) intensions is punishable under the IT Act 2000 and would be considered as a breach of constitutional right under article 21.

Admissibility of call recordings.

That would entirely be depended upon the permission of the court, in order to make any evidence admissible, one needs to prove the relevance of that recording.
