Yes! Section 65 B of the Indian Evidence Act, specifically deals with the admissibility of electronic records e.g. tape-recorded, phone audio or in any other form. 

In K. Velusamy vs. N. Palanisamy-

The SC held that telephonic conversation recording or a recording in a disc form shall be considered as a piece of valid evidence under section 2(t) and 3 of the evidence act. But the conversation must follow these precedential guidelines that-

  • It must be relevant in the matter of issue.
  • Voice or the recording must be accurate and identified.
